    Feature Fridays – Clip Lists

    By Garry Dukes | 3.0 Feature Friday, DVR Examiner, DVR Examiner 3.0 | Comments are Closed | 18 December, 2020 | 6

Our previous post talked about one of the new features in DVR Examiner 3.0,  Multiple Sources. Today we will focus on how enhancements to the Clip List makes it easier to find the evidence you need when working with clips from one source, or several sources.

If you are familiar with previous versions of DVR Examiner, you know that after the program detects a source and then scans that source, it returns video clips in the form of a clip list. In version 3.0, we have not only added additional functionality to the clip list, but we also completely updated the user interface to make it easier for you to find what you need. In this blog post, I will be walking through some of these functions and the new interface.

    Clip List Toolbar

All functions of the clip list are provided in the clip list toolbar. From the toolbar you can select and unselect, filter, preview, generate a report and queue and un-queue clips for export. You can also search for a particular clip.

You can also highlight clips and right-click for a function menu.

    Enhanced Filtering

To apply filters to the clip list, you click the filter icon on the toolbar and select date/time filters and/or clip attribute filters such as clip size, clip duration, by source, channel, status or by tags you have applied to individual clips.

Additionally, if you would rather filter by a column or columns such as end date, simply click the filter icon on the column header and select the attributes you would like to filter.

    Preview

There are two ways to preview clips in DVR Examiner. You can preview a single clip, where you can mark the clip for export, add notes and tags and save the current frame or entire clip.

Or you can preview several clips in gallery preview where you can select the frame interval.

I hope you found this post useful. This being the last blog post of 2020, all of us at DME Forensics wish you and yours Happy Holidays!
