Welcome back to Feature Fridays! As you may have heard, the planned release date of DVR Examiner 3.0 is on 03.30.21, and we can’t wait for you to experience all the new features and performance enhancements that promise to deliver: More, Easier, Faster.
This is the 6th in our series of DVR Examiner 3.0 Feature Friday posts. We have covered a lot, and with the release of 3.0 less a month away I would like to give a summary of the key new features that you can expect when you download DVR Examiner 3.0 on 03.30.21.
(Just a reminder, if you have an active license, you can download 3.0 from the DME Forensics Portal on or after 03.30.21, or if you are new to DVR Examiner, you can see what all the fuss is about by requesting a free trial.)
While there are a lot of new features in DVR Examiner 3.0, my favorite one is the new User Interface; Not only is it good looking, but it is also highly intuitive. It includes several enhancements that allow you to manage your case information. Whether you need to quickly scan and export clips, or you want to build a detailed case within DVR Examiner, the new user interface makes it easy!
At the core of the interface is a Case Explorer. Within case explorer, you can do things like monitor progress of scans and exports jobs, add locations, sources, and devices, or edit details regarding the case and incident. Behind this new interface there’s a completely new architecture that allows you to perform functions like scan, preview, and export faster than ever before. It also supports loading multiple sources into a single case (this is particularly helpful for a DVR with two hard drives or when you have multiple sources, or DVR’s, to evaluate):

Sifting through the data is made easier with our improved Clip List. Add tags or notes to selected clips:

From the clip list tab, you can preview by clip or use gallery preview to view frame by frame. Finding the video clip you need is easier and faster using the new Clip List Filter. Filter clips by date and time or attributes such as clip size, clip duration or channel to narrow down your search:

Our Date/Time Offset Manager provides the ability to set each source to the correct date and time, whether you need to correct on sources or many. When you have found the evidence you need, simply select the clips and export. Don’t worry about losing data. DVR Examiner 3.0 includes an Auto Save function, keeping your work saved to whichever destination you choose. If you need to review the action taken in the case, simply scroll the Audit Log to see what was done, when and by whom. If you need a copy of the audit log, it can be saved as a separate file or printed.
In addition to all of these new features and functions, we added two of the most popular DVR Filesystems and will continue to add more to what is already the industry’s largest library. If you want to see it first hand, sign-up for our DVR Examiner 3.0 Preview, Scheduled 03.16.21 (9am-10am MST) and see what all the excitement is about!
