One of the things we pride ourselves on at DME Forensics is as prioritizing understanding our customers’ needs. While all agencies are unique, there is a common theme we hear no matter the size or location, and that is that there is never enough time. It’s no coincident that the DVR Examiner 3 tagline is “More, Easier, Faster”; we understand our customers’ biggest pain points and are focused around creating efficiencies that answer them. One of the ways we have done this in DVR Examiner 3 is by improving the methods available for searching, sorting, and filtering clips to empower users to find what they are looking for as quickly and easily as possible.
When we implemented the ability to scan multiple sources, we wanted to allow users to scan more sources while simultaneously making it easier to find the evidence needed from those sources. One of the features we added was a simple ID search function. With this function, you can search for a specific clip by entering the source and the clip ID.
We also made some enhancements to one of the most powerful tools in the clip list: filters. With the advanced filters, you can zero in on the exact clip or clips you are looking for. There are two different ways to filter clips in DVR Examiner 3. The first one is by utilizing column filters, similarly to how you would in a spreadsheet. Simply click on the filter icon in the header of the column and a filter window will appear where you can enter the information you want to see in that column. From the same column header, you can click the header title to sort the clip list in ascending or descending order of that column, indicated by an arrow.
The second options for filtering clips is utilizing the clip list filters window, accessible by clicking on the filter icon on the clip list toolbar. From this window, you can filter on attributes such as date and time, clip size, source, and channel. You can also filter on tags you have added to clips, notes, and the status of the source.
