With the release of DVR Examiner 2.4 we made significant improvements to the way reports are viewed and exported. With the new Report Viewer, you can view the clip list report directly within DVR Examiner, allowing the user to search the report, print the report, or export the report in various formats, such as PDF, Excel, Word, and more.
Adding Your Logo to Reports
Users can now add a custom agency logo to their DVR Examiner clip list reports. Simply click on the Options tab and scroll down to the Report Logo section with User Options. Click “Choose Logo” and upload your custom .png logo file. In order to best fit the space allotted, we recommend you size your image to 275 pixels x 200 pixels.
Using the Report Viewer
With the new built in Report Viewer, you now have more options than ever to view, print, or save a clip list report within DVR Examiner. The first page of the report will always contain the Case, Filesystem, and Source details, as well as a logo. Depending on the number of clips in the list, clips will be displayed starting on the first or second page.
To search within the Report Viewer, simply click on the “search” icon to bring up a search window. Enter your search parameters here and a list of results will be returned. All returned instances of that search will be highlighted in the clip list pages. Clicking on a search results row will take you to that location within the report.
To save your report, click the “disk” icon and select your desired output from the dropdown list. Reports can be saved in PDF, Excel, PowerPoint, RTF, Tiff, Web Archive, Word, or XPS.
Note: Depending on the output format selected, Clip list reports with large number of clips may take a while to generate and save.
When generating reports, keep in mind that the more clips you’ve selected, the longer the report will take to generate. In cases where hundreds of thousands of clips are selected, report generation can take a long time. In an effort to process a high number of clips more efficiently, any clip list report or export report over 100,000 clips will be broken up into multiple reports.
The first page of the report will always contain the Case, Filesystem, and Source details, as well as a logo. Depending on the number of clips in the list, clips will be displayed starting on the first or second page. Each report will be numbered and easily identifiable in the upper left of the page.
Currently, we have capped the number of clips that can be viewed in a report to 75,000. To view more clips in a separate report, simply highlight any additional clips and select the ‘View Selected Clips Report’ icon from the Reporting tab. A new Report Viewer tab will open with the clip list report for the additional clips.
Note: You can also highlight the desired clips, right click, and select ‘Open in Report Viewer’.
