DVR Examiner 2.5 is now available to download! This latest update includes more filesystem improvements and bug fixes than any previous release.
The DVR Examiner 2.5 preview feature has been completely overhauled, with faster loading and improved scrubbing of video clips. Also, we have made improvements to resolution and aspect ratio issues, allowing for an improved viewing experience when video images appear to be squished or stretched. In cases where split frames have made video footage impossible to review, DVR Examiner corrects these frames so that video can be analyzed.
Our most requested update, inaccessible scanning for DHFS_41 is finally available. Locate and review inaccessible and deleted video on DHFS_41 filesystems.
We have also improved functionality for data requests, allowing for faster turnaround time on technical support requests. Similar to the DVR profiler, these requests automatically collects data requested by the development team from the DVR hard drive.
There are also various usability updates throughout DVR Examiner, such as updated “checkboxes” based on user feedback.
Finally, DVR Examiner can force detection of a particular filesystem in situations where the drive may not be recognized due to formatting or other missing data. This forced detection helps in situations where non-critical data may have been overwritten, preventing detection, but there is still enough data available for our technical support team to recognize the filesystem based on other characteristics. We will have more information available about this feature within the next week, but we ask that you call us if you are having trouble detecting your filesystem with DVR Examiner.
