DVR Examiner 1.18.1 Released – Updated

    By DME Forensics | DVR Examiner Updates | 0 comment | 11 December, 2015 | 0

Update: 12/15/2015 – We just released version 1.18.1 which fixes a preview bug impacting the RSF_264 and RSF_264_E filesystems. Please be sure to download the latest version.

Hello everyone, it has been a while since we published an update to our blog, sorry for that. We are working on some changes for 2016 and this is certainly on our list!

DVR Examiner 1.18 is a big update and will be our last for this year. Within this update we have 2 new filesystems, updates for multiple filesystem, and resolved a few pesky bugs. The new version is available for download right now on our Support Portal.

    Filesystems
    • Added support for the RSF_264 filesystem commonly found in Lorex and other DVRs
    • Added support for the RSF_264_E filesystem commonly found in Night Owl and other DVRs
    Inaccessible Recovery!

One of our biggest requests has been completed, Inaccessible Recovery for the KSF_dc and KSF_RSF filesystems! With this release, we are now able to recover inaccessible video from the many systems covered by these filesystems, including some Swann, Q-See and Lorex DVRs. Whether the video has been deleted, accidentally formatted or the clip is partially overwritten, DVR Examiner can get video that is otherwise not accessible.

    Expanded Support

We have expanded detection and support for a few filesystems, resulting in support for new makes and models!

    • 60D_Slave: Commonly found in GE DVRs, we have expanded support for secondary or slave drives
    • DHFS_41: Commonly found in Q-See and other generic DVRs, we have expanded support for systems with additional partitions
    • TangoMagic: Commonly found in ADT DVRs

Along with these improvements we continue to fix any issues that we come across, as well as any issues reported by customers and free trial users alike. We always encourage feedback from all of our users! We’ll try to fix any bugs that you find, and we do our best to cater to our users’ needs to implement as many requests as possible.

    DVR Examiner 2.0 Development

Work has begun on DVR Examiner version 2.0 and we have a lot of things planned! We will be doing our best to balance filesystem support with additional features so stay tuned for more updates! If you have any suggestions or ideas you would like to see please let us know! We will be providing more updates on what we have planned early next year.

Thanks for your continued interest and support!
