DME Forensics is an innovative technology and services company focused on providing software, training and digital & multimedia evidence analysis to the criminal justice and civil litigation communities.
Our flagship software product, DVR Examiner, has revolutionized the process of recovering video evidence from DVRs and is used by hundreds of federal, state, local and international law enforcement agencies. Many DVRs you may encounter have archaic menu systems and frustratingly slow exports. DVR Examiner allows you to recover video from the DVR hard drive directly. This allows you to save time, bypass passwords and recover evidence from non-functioning DVRs in a forensically sound manner.
With over 30 years combined experience in the digital & multimedia evidence field, our team has the expertise required to assist you in this fast changing discipline.
If you are tired of cloning DVR hard drives and exporting natively then DVR Examiner is a must have. It is very easy to use and most importantly it saves you a lot of time. Our backlog in DVR cases has substantially diminished thanks to DVR Examiner.

Just wanted to let you know that I received DVR Examiner today and one of my Analysts was immediately able to put it to the test with a Swann DVR he’s been working on that was password protected and no password was available for it. Wouldn’t you know it, he plugged it into DVR Examiner and was immediately able to retrieve video from the DVR’s hard drive.

Our agency recently seized a DVR surveillance system in an arson investigation. The circuit board was damaged in the fire, but the hard drive and its data were intact. Initially, we could not view the proprietary video data files. By removing the hard drive and viewing the data directly, DVR Examiner recovered all the video files and presented them in a highly organized report with hyperlinks to the videos. I would highly recommend DVR Examiner for any agency that regularly seizes DVRs. The final report it creates alone, is well worth it.

DVR Examiner is without question a case saving tool. We were working a 4 year old arson of a business where the store’s DVR unit was “wiped”. At the time of the incident, there was no tool available to recover the video. After attending a class by DME Forensics and learning about DVR Examiner, I decided to give it a shot on this case. DVR Examiner not only recovered the video, but was able to identify an adjustment in the frame rates and provide crucial date and time stamps. Without DVR Examiner, this case would not have proceeded forward.

We can’t say enough about DVR Examiner and the guys at DME Forensics. We have attended several of their training courses and have deployed DVR Examiner in our lab. The training courses are fantastic, they are extremely knowledgeable, very responsive and go the extra mile to assist us when needed. DVR Examiner is a real time saver, easy to use and they are always pushing out new updates to include newly added DVR’s to their library. Roger Cain, Keith Swanson & Brewster Rolland-Keith - RMIN
I ran DVR Examiner against the second drive (I acquired in dd format) and literally within seconds I had access to over 3700 videos just like that. Everything listed in start and stop times, as well as all of the channel information so I could relate that back to the 16 different cameras in the location. I was able to export video and playback locally without issue. The report it created gives a ton of system level information as well as metadata of the video and they even bother to hash it all for you. Extremely fast and efficient.
